LEDs do not really work in the Omega, as it simply wasn't designed for it.
Leaving aside questionable sexuality (
), the issue is the narrow angle (which diffusers dont really cure) and that blues are all ultrabrights. The end result is a poorly illuminated dash, and unreadable MID (particularly during daylight), and centre console/climate switches/window switches being dazzlingly bright at night.
The end result just isn't successful
These are some 270 degree wide-angle thingsamabobs, supposed to be the nuts, but they're simply too long to fit the clockset.
Another supplier can help out, but as said, they need to be the ultrabright type. The yellow diffuser would really need removing in the MID, I think, and I wasn't going to attempt the climate/heater lights or switches.
Some of the red LEDs in my Carlton - installed in the switches - are far too bright, so I hear what you're saying there!
I'm not sure what to do now, as I really like the blue effect in my Carlton and wanted this in the Omega, but might leave well alone..........
