....

On mentioning mx5.... "ooh they're a bit low to the ground" which is what I thought she'd say tbh. I can see a Lorry rolling straight over the top of one of those and not even notice...?  :-\ .....

You want to try a Smart Roadster then. Your bum is inches from the ground, you'd fit in it though!  :y :y :y

but although it's not a DSG, it's an automated manual ................. which isn't brilliant.  :-\

out of all the little shite FWD boxes i've driven, best actually has to be Mitsubishi Colt. Had one in Portugal, i had plenty of room, most unlike FWD boxes. I usually drive with my knee's, but had plenty of space around pedals. We only had the 1.2, given a 1.6, bet that will be a nice little run about.

Standard shitbox looks:

Keep working her though, motherT never drove big cars, but eventually we got her in a 3.0 Facelift Elite Estate  :D - She loves it!

She's about same height if not a bit smaller than MrsG too

What does she need it for? Just town work or long distance too?

1 Series as Josh suggested, or an Astra  :y

As we discussed at the weekend, the Astra is a nice motor. Not overly "involving" as a drive but I couldn't get her company one to let go, even in the wet :y

True... It was a brand spanking 56 plate one so had oe tyres. I tend to take any car she has for a "spirited" drive to find out if she's likely to find the limits or not ;)

I agree though, with the right tyres they're quite a good drive  :y

And I found her CDTi very frugal too, although it was the less powerful one and a manual. I'd certainly consider another in the future :y

Excellent on fuel, I get roughly 51 MPG with a mix of driving, and a lot of that driving consists of a good hard drive because they're so powerful :)

Clearly not trying. Astra-H will, like the Astra-G before, understeer without too much provocation in the dry, and has 'exciting' lift-off oversteer.

Must try an Astra-J, not driven one yet.
