eh? last time i used Bicester they had two ticket machines?

Don't need conductor on the train, ticket booth at London you can buy your ticket there, before exiting the barriers.
There are other places in this world that the shithole often called London ;)

This was Bicester Town ;)

But if you were not going to London, why were you on Chiltern?  ???
There are other places other than London that the Chiltern Slug goes to. Warwick, Leamington, Brum etc etc.  In this case, Oxford.  I went to Oxford in the hope of goading the protesters, but never found any. Gutted.

You so rarely talk about your likes and dislikes, TB.. tell us more about yourself - for instance, how do you feel about Formula 1? ;)

Careful you don't end up like Guffer :D :D ;D

He's home and I'm not banned yet.. hurrah! ;D

Give it time.  TB said Guffer's ban would be for 3 days.  Worryingly Guffer says the message he got was that it was permanent....... ???
So, whats most likely to be correct, a fat, organic bloke more interested in his dinner, or a dull, boring, always correct computer program?

::)

No sure if I mentioned, I rather hate the Chiltern Slug.

Despite arriving with 6mins spare to buy a ticket, I missed the planned train  >:(, and the next tinker was delayed, unsurprisingly (as its run by rather retards).  And its over £60 for this privilege - far cheaper (and quicker) to drive.

Remind me again why we subsidise this outdated Victorian system?

Later this year I will be travelling between Aylesbury and Theale on a regular basis over a period of a few weeks... was considering rail, but the journey is nearly 2 and a half hours - with a change in London!

Because the hoops to jump through to claim back the congestion charge are so difficult, I just put up with the long winded approval process for the train.

Less than half that by car. And cheaper.  The Aylesbury line doesn't go anyway but Aylesbury-Marylebone, and that bit is just over an hour (due to sharing track with Metropolitan Underground from about Harrow)

Yep, car it will be! Hopefully I'll get hold of some reasonably priced LPG en route :y
