The Boy Scouts!
« on: 24 December 2011, 20:01:25 »

Who was a  Boy Scout?

I joined the 57th South Birmingham Troop in 1968, we met in a wooden shed in the playground of a school , I learnt plenty of stuff that has been of use to me throughout my life.

Long enough to get my Mum roped into running the troop, which she did for another 20 odd years. ;D

Air cadets myself.  I was a cub for many years but on my first night at the scouts in Warrington I was threatened with a knife.  Never went again.

The prospect of flying a plane and shagging girls in RAF uniforms won  ;D

Hmm. Does sound more fun than chucking batteries on a camp fire then legging it.

I was in the Air cadets (for similar reasons to Guffer). My CO keeps asking me to come back as an instructor, shame I don't have the time.

I was never allowed to join those afterschool clubs.  I think my mum had a natural distrust of gentlemen who willingly give up their free time to play with small boys...

...all of a sudden, I think you may be able to understand why I am like I am ;D

I do agree - the sight of a uniformed woman with a weapon is quite captivating. :D :D :D
