Auto box getting progressively worse.
« on: 23 January 2012, 07:31:20 »

Posted up problems before about it holding gears too long.

Latest symptoms, after climbing a hill in first or second gear, takes several hundred yards before it changes up, on the flat or downhill.

Should add, only when engine is hot, OK when cold.

Have you checked the fluid level again? It could quite easily be low, which would cause your symptoms.

Checked for codes recently?

Good point. If the gearbox is not changing smartly when commanded to by the ECU you will get incorrect ratio codes.

Can also watch the solenoids in live data with a tech 2 to confirm this.

Has the gearbox had the latest update?

No codes when last checked, gearbox has the latest update.

Can't remember if TB checked live data.

Have I seen this car recently :o. If I have, I don't remember it  :-[

Its a 2.6. Like all V6 DBW TCMs, its not as refined as non DBW, or indeed your old 2.2 - is it really a problem, or are you finding problems that don't exist?

As it's the same auto box as the 2.2, what's the difference?

I presume the ECU?

Any chance you could have another look at it please?

Suspected he was just being fussy tbh...  :-X  ;D

If shift quality is ok, no slipping and banging, then there can't be much wrong if no codes. My 3.2 does hang on to gears when sport mode is on. I guess just in case the driver boots it again.

Out of interest, exactly what rpm does it change up at on flat out acceleration...?
