True enough, but narrower tyres work better on snow.
I can understand that but we will probably have 3 days of snow a year so I could sacrifice un petit bit of ultimateness in snow for the rest of the winter where it is just a little frosty / cold.
As said, it is all relative to current experience...
Back on track of the post - any suggestions / experiences of a 225/55/16 winter (ish) tyre.
Nokian WR A3 has also been suggested to me.
nokian wr series ok.. goodyear ultragrip extreme ok.. conti ts 830 ok..contiicecontact ok..
but 225 size for winter is really weird
imo talk to your insurance, some (as I posted before from honest john UK) insurance firms even claim you must not use them and charge extra
ps: for combined ice, snow, wet(rain) performance UG8 very good.. conti models are more directed towards ice,snow..
As I said earlier, my insurance only want to know that I have winter tyres on an will not charge more.
As for 225 being 'weird' vauxhall dont spec another size option so in my eyes that is what I haveto stick to.
If it were my call then 225/55/16 on a 7 inch rim was lunacy in the first place but then vx do some REALLY weird calls on putting tyres too wide for their rims (205 on 6.5j on astras or yore!!!) - I digress but you get my point!
As I asked in the first place, simply some views one tred patterns to chose from, nowt else please!
