Ok,
Removed the TID/MID did exactly as the guide suggested. Unfortunatly it seems to have had no little/a negative effect.

So where can i get another(yellow & Black plug) TID?

2
The repair was my intention, i just wanted to know if i could still use the car without any detrimental effects, or had to lay it up while i repaired it.

Thanks for your help

Yes i can leave it out or yes you know where i may be able to source a replacement?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / TID Removal and replacing
« on: 14 May 2011, 15:58:53 »
If i remove the TID from my dashboard, can i replace the clocks without the TID, and still use the car, without any detrimental effects(warning light etc)

The theory being i can then fix it at my leisure, and replace.

On a secondary note does anyone have, or know of where i can source a known good replacement? Early type(Yellow & Black plugs) i think?

So thats why they are on bullet connectors?!! ;D
Swapped the wires and all is sorted. Thanks for your help! :y

Thanks for your help, i will have a look for the Sony adapter then!

Does anyone know if a Sony CDX GT300 can connect up to the TID on a 95 Omega. I assume if it does i need some sort of adapter?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: HIDs on the continent

My car has been retrofitted with HIDs by a previous owner and is a 95' so the manual is pre-HIDs, hence the question :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: 2.5TD (BMW) Chip
« on: 10 May 2011, 13:50:35 »
Thanks for the concern, but i was aware of the gearbox issue, hence i bought a Manual.

Ok, Next question,

What sort of gains should i expect?

Is there anything else i would need to change(The Volvo forums always advocated a stage 0 Service) or expect to break?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / 2.5TD (BMW) Chip
« on: 09 May 2011, 12:34:56 »
Hopefully this is a fairly simple question for yourselfs.

I am interested in Chiping my 2.5TD. My questions are,

Firstly is it worth it?

Secondly who or where do i go to get it done(electrics are not my forte!)? Any recommendations?

Thirdly What are the down sides?

And finally what will it cost?

Hope you can help me?

Omega General Help / Re: 2.5td Performance worries

Ok 1379miles later it doesn't seem to be any worse?!

However as i tow a large car trailer i think a clutch might be in order.

Is there a specific part number for the 3.0 Clutch that fits or is it anyone for the 3.0?

Ok,
Point 1 & 2 i have still to action.

Point 3 was done with the service

And the Chip has been fitted. Wow what a difference!
Only minor problem is the Clutch doesn't seem to be able to cope, Oh well! :)
