Key feels as normal and is not sticking, I have reconnected the inside rod mechanism to the inside handle, outside handle mechinism is still connected and I can now get access to the latch from inside the door BUT STILL NOT RELEASING!!! Is it possible to manually force the keeper open?? :-?

I have managed to connect the inner handle rod to the release mechanism but it still wont release the latch!

I notice that when I lock the car with key or remote the dead lock is not activating. Can the dead lock be over-ridden?

I dont wont to ruin the door card to get access if its a fault with the dead lock. :-/ HELP

I have managed to ease off the top off the door card, I can feel and see the end of the inner door handle release rod! the gap at the end of the release rod is very small and I can only get 3 fingers into it! I can feel what appears to be a broken piece of plastic at where the rod should be, I can move this part anticlockwise but gets to a point that i cant move it any further. Is this the door release? And how do I release the door mechanism.

Omega General Help / drivers door wont open
« on: 20 March 2009, 16:17:35 »
The drivers door has decided not to open when using the door handle, the inside door handle was a little stiffer to open this morning and I never thought anything about it but when i tried to get out the handle had no resistance and it was the same using the outside handle!

The door is stuck closed at the moment! Central locking is working fine and the key lock is also ok.

How do I get the door to release if I cant open the door to remove door lining? :(

Thanks for reply Danny, the display is as normal.

I had to replace the battery 6 weeks ago, usual set up of resetting code and unit worked fine.

Will try disconnecting the battery.

Turned on the head unit this afternoon to find I cant get any sound at all from the unit, reset the security code and not even the usual beep from that!

Everything works as it should CD/Radio/Tape and the controls from the steering are working.

Does any one know if there is a output mute function.

Cheers Mark

Omega General Help / Exhausts
« on: 21 April 2008, 16:27:58 »
Advise needed,

I need to replace my exhaust its rotten either side if the coupling joing front silencers and at rear silencer, basically require new system from cats back! I have been quoted £473inc  for genuine VX system but for that money im sure I could get a stainless system. Im looking for a stainless system thats as quite as the VX but would like to change the tail pipe to a twin ovals similar to the Remus system I had on my Carlton CDX. Can anyone give me the name of a quality quite system to look at.

Thanks MARK

Omega General Help / pre wired trailer electrics socket
« on: 17 April 2008, 08:31:44 »
Ive just wired up the electrics for my towbar, my 02 Omega has a pre wired plug in the boot, everything wired in fine but when we carried out a check we found that we had no brake lights on the trailer, checked back the supply and found that there was no feed on the pre wired brake cable (yellow/black)! Ended up having to take the feed from the loom for the brake lights and put it through a relay for the bulb check system.
Checked all the fuses and everything as it should be! Its working fine but left scratching my head as to why the pre wired socket has no feed to the trailer brake lights :-/.
Note: Theres no bypass relay required on models with the pre wired electrics.

P.s Looking at getting a trade club card, How do I go about getting one.

Omega General Help / towbar electrics
« on: 09 April 2008, 11:11:37 »
HI,

Ive just fitted a detachable Westfilia towbar to my 2002 MV6, I purchased it from Towequipe and they said I require a full bypass relay unit (£26) as the car has bulb failure check system!
Ive been told by an auto electrician that the 2002 model has a pre wired plug in the boot and its wired to run without the relay.
Does anyone know if this is correct.
 :)
