Omega General Help / Re: Testing a dispack?

Investigating an intermitent misfire at the moment whilst working my way thru some issues. Is there a way of testing the dispack on a (2000) facelift 2.2 .4 potter, perhaps with a multimeter? There are lots of threads saying " replaced the dispack but misfire still there". At circa £70 a 'pop, I'd rather do some diagnosis first.
Thanks guys.
VC :y
Could be the dis pack but any decent mech will say when replacing it, it :y is wise to replace the plugs and leads aswell all in one job that way you have eliminated most of the electrical faults that may cause the fault that you describe.

Hi all, I put a post on here a while back RE Brake imbalance, it was showing 36% difference on my MOT results, front. I freed the pistons off in the calipers, they seem to be working ok, bought some 2nd hand brake discs, (which turned out to be knackered and caused the car to shudder violently when braking) so eventually ended up with new discs, just fitted them tonight, pistons seem to be working fine and it brakes nice and smooth and in a straight line, does this sound like the imbalance may be cured, as I have no other way of telling before its re-test tomorrow.
As always thanks in advance

Hope they were genuine Vauxhall discs mate - if not you will be replacing them again in a few thousand miles  :(
I have had my 'non GM' discs for 2 years 20.000 miles no probs.... :y

You will easily tell as they crack and/or  'fur' up at a certain point on the base, well worth the hour long job.

my v6 is acting very odd once warmed up it struggles to accelerate and jerks a lot have change egr valve, plugs, leads it people have suggested dis pack how ever when unplugging the air flow meter the jerkyness seems to go away but still low power is it still the dis pack or something else.

Sounds to me just like the DIS pack, I know they are a pain to do but they are responsible for this type of problem, you wont see the full state of the DIS pack until you remove it they are not the worst job to do on the omega, best of luck. :y

Omega General Help / Tyres scuffed
« on: 15 February 2010, 19:05:18 »
Hello, I have had my omega for several years and until recently noticed the car pulling to the right slightly on the m/way. I inspected the tyre and noticed that it was slightly flatter than the rest turned the lock full right hand down and the tyre is badly  scuffed on the inner side showing some of the banding closest to the McPherson strut. I had the geometry checked at a specialist using the hawk eye laser align system and it was found that there was no adjustment needed, I saw this and trust him as he is my mechanic and I smell b/s a mile away ;), so Would a worn wishbone cause this sort of wear but still show nothing on Geo? I am confused... Spending on a new set of 4 tyres is an expense that I didn't want compounded by a faulty suspension. Many thanks for all your advice and help people :y

I'm having a fixed towbar fitted to my 2001 3.2 will it
set off the reversing sensors ?
I did a little experiment by putting a plastic box where
the towbar would be and nothing happened.
Does anybody have any experience with this.
Or should I get a detachable, but they are twice the
price.. :-/
No, is the answer, the tow bar will not affect the sensors and give false signals.

Indeed :y He is a top mechanic and regularly laughs at his friends endeavors on the omega v6, he justs wants a pointer in the right direction. I have seen him work on all types new and old nothing phases him and he does a top job, seen my miggy right several times. In the book Vx v6 is a 2.5 hr job, they even took the bumper off ;D
