bank holiday rant
« on: 26 May 2008, 12:55:12 »

OK enough is enough, not only are fuel prices spiraling out of control, even if I could afford it I can't go anywhere cause of the bloody weather. We have a government who couldn't care less, the country is full of johnny foreigners, the cost of living is getting a joke & chavs rule the streets, you cant go out at night for fear of getting stabbed. What has happened to our country?

sorry about that rant over :-/

I filled up the tank yesterday, 60 litres at 108.9 pence per litre

 ;D

Boy do I feel great.

How ?

Well Asda in Wishaw was 110.9 per litre and using an Asda mastercard gets you an additional 2pence per litre off.

So I saved 6 pence per litre and £3.60 in total than if I'd filled up at home.

There, bet that cheers you up  :-*

the country is full of johnny foreigners

A rather sweeping, somewhat racist, statement?

What's the relevence? Aren't foreign people allowed to catch a taxi?

I know lots of decent hard working people of different ethnic or racial origin, I don't see
the problem with them being in the country or why they should be targeted by these comments?

I'm not at all happy about these statements - especially the "Johnny Foreigner" one.

While I agree there are areas the Government could do things differently, I think speaking in a derogitory fashion towards people of a different background isn't the way to tackle it.

And please don't use the argument about they are claiming benefits from our taxes and get preferential housing.

I have encountered many British Nationals doing just the same...

in my office....

One of my bosses is Spanish, he is Director of Development.

The media girl who deals with our TV adverts is an aussie, as is the Business Development Manager, i work with her a lot, very hard working, also very fit!  ;)

We have South African guys in who are doing PHP contract work, the guy who built out Customer Service application is Polish, very hard working.

A member of our Java team is Turkish, great bloke, good coder we often go out for drinks along with the PHP team.

There are some English people i know who don't work nearly so hard, go on the piss every weekend, and do crap work.

Unfair generalisation going on there mate!

I think what your seeing is your "traditional UK nationals" getting sick and tired, as well as exasperated, by some of the things that go on in this country James.

The overly PC attitude, the constant shafting we get from our Government and the preferrential treatment some groups get over others.

And that i can well understand...

As said, I agree the government are getting some things wrong - that's not under dispute.

I just think that as a result, the British Nationals should not take that out directly on people from other origins - as it's not specifically their fault what the government decide?
