I like reading stemo's rambling drival, and all I fear is, does this happen to everyone once they retire, and become a burden to the state, and have eaten all the Wurthers, and pissed up there pension. ;D
Rambling drivel? I'll have you know there are thousands hundreds tens at least two people hanging on my every word.

At least two members, on is his Lordship, but then he has nothing to do except count his money, and interfere with the staff,.. :D

I tried to pop into Costco at Bristol on Sunday morning for fuel and there was a line of cars about half a mile trying to get in...  ::)

So I abandoned that, carried on up the M5 to see similar queues of cars backed up onto the motorway on both sides trying to get into Cribbs Causeway shoopping mall/complex.   ::)

People really are mental about Christmas....  :-\

Mrs TB went to Tescos at 6am yesterday morning, and said it was already pretty busy. Dread to think what it was like at less unearthly hours :o.

Fuelwise, I guess a lot of people fill up as many will be doing a decent journey over the holiday period, and the country is full of people who couldn't possibly let the tank run down to the last half....

My fridge decided to freeze everything last night, so I did a quick run to Tesco's to replace the stuff that doesn't like being frozen.  ::)

I thought I'd be scrummaging for tomatoes, but it was no busier than normal.  :-\

We did our Christmas shop yesterday morning and it was mental. Went in Asda about half ten this morning. The car park attendants that they draught in for Christmas we're standing playing with their phones because the car park was half empty, as was the shop. Obviously all did it yesterday.

We went to Sainsburys on Friday, after doing a 5 mile detour due to 3 of the 4 exits out of the village being flooded. It was very busy indeed.
We went back again yesterday (yeah I know) and it was fickin manic. Couldn't wait to get out. Saw a highly sheepish looking bloke being led through the shop in handcuffs by two coppers and three security men.
We went in Boots to look for a present and there was almost a riot gong on. Several groups of people having very shouty arguments about various things while security and staff tried to calm things down. It was hilarious.
All for the sake of one day. Or half a day in my case as Im working tonight and will roll out of bed at around 1pm tomorrow.

I really don't like the actual day. I am chief cook and bottle washer and, for the sake of one meal, it is an overrated faff. But the missus will say the dinner is lovely, no matter what I dish up, she's good like that. I try to appear cheerful and content, but the best part of the day, for me, is stuffing all of the dishes into the dishwasher and knowing that's, more or less, it for another year.
It's for young kids, and I haven't got any.

When I saw all the queues to get into Costco and Cribbs on Sunday I did have a little chuckle at all the rows that must have been going on in those cars!  ;D

Her: I don't like to say I told you so, but we should have done this last weekend! ::)

Him: Shut TF up woman! >:(

We did all ours on Friday to avoid the nonsense and I then spent the weekend in the pub.

Now off to work for the night ::)

I feel much the same as STEMO about it. However our 35 year old kid has come home for a couple of days and he loves, so we are mustering some enthusiasm for that reason.
Next year though, he will probably be married (poor ficker) and wont be here. I will be working 7.30am - 7.30pm, so swmbo is going to have a miserable day of it I think.
You never know though, she might throw a wild party and have a great time while Im off the premises.
