are you still riding optimist ?

Yes I am ..........owned for a  long time a GPZ 750 Turbo of 1984 vintage (on a B plate) and also had a beautiful FJ1200 Yamaha. Spent much of this summer (such as it was) on a 1000cc Thunderace.

I find the out and out sports bikes a bit too radical for me these days, as i am quite well stricken with years (as are you by the sounds of it) ;D ;D ;D.

Having tested a Susuki Hayabusa lately 200BHP and sports tourer, seems more suited to my needs. :y :y :y

Never!  I could never see the point of riding a machine with just two wheels and no steel protective shield, when I could have a vehicle with four wheels and a steel cage around me!! ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;)

So you've never sat on something big hard & throbbing Lizzie ::) ::)

I think my days on sports bikes are probably numbered. I want an R1 for a year or 2 and then something a bit more sensible.
A Hayabusa with close on 200 bhp sounds like just the thing. !  :y ;D ;D

Nov 80 in Inverkeithing when I was 18 on a borrowed Z250. I had about an hour before my test to get used to it. A bit different from my GT250 2 stroke! :-?  :y

I think that all forum members with bikes over 1000cc and with more than 150 BHP should take lizzie on the back.......is that O.k with you lizzie. :D :D :y

Oh my goodness, now I love my speed, but thinking of going above 50 mph on one of those makes me go quite cold! :o :o :o :o ;D ;D ;D

The strange thing is I love looking at them and appreciating what a wonderful piece of machinery most of them are! ::) ::) ::) ::) :-*

started riding in 1976 on a moped finished on a yam LC250 (Allspeeds ,Har-power reeds ,jets and port job) 100mph no problem. when 250 law came out thought time to get a car . Took me direct access 10 years ago and passed 1 st time brought a cb 1000 big one ,spent to much cash on it (2 brothers full system ,hyper- pro springs front and rear , braided lines and a headlight fairing ) havnt had a bike for 3 years or so keep looking at a gsx1400 or a cb 1300 :) :)

Oh no I could certainly take on an F1 car after training and drive as good as the men; it is I do value the parts of my body that matter, so I wouldn't race on a two wheel, 'open' machine! ::) ::) ::) :D :D ;)

That is no doubt why few woman do ride bikes competatively, although they do ride them generally.  As far as F1 etc goes I am sure that is still a 'mans world' with very few woman managing even to start to penatrate this macho sport. :( :(
