No doubt that it was because I was doing 80 instead of 70 that they chose to follow me but I still think its a pretty intimidating tactic to see if youll then further break the limit. As an afternote, whilst the mig was off the road having the oil cooler fixed recently I borrowed the wifes toyota emina bus. Same stretch of road, in the right hand lane coming up to the roundabout to turn right and sticking religiously to 70(!!). Anyhow this car comes roaring up behind me and starts flashing me. Not wanting to be caught again (a tad unlikely in the bus i admit), I continue at 70. If hes in that much of a hurry then there was plenty of room/time to undertake me before the roundabout as there is no other traffic about. Anyway, he flashes me again and I check to see if there are any warning lights on etc, nope, and its only when he flashes me for the third time that he puts his blue lights on . Great, unmarked car, he must be on a shout I think as I change lanes to let him past. Just as I pull back into the right lane to be in the right lane to turn at the roundabout this vectra comes storming up to me, undertaking me ,then turning right down the same single carriageway. Must be another cop car I think. About 1/4 mile down the single carriageway there is the vectra pulled over by the unmarked traffic car!Go figure! :-/.

Re-read the highway code. Something like return to the left lane after overtaking. You say that there was ample space for the police to undertake. Ergo, ample space for you to get into the correct lane to proceede sfaley...
Sorry, one of my pet hates. Lane hoggers in the wrong lane wanting to run right on the roundabout at the end of a dual several lightyears ahead of them.....
My pet hate is coppers who break the law just like the rest of us from time to tim but sit there on their high horse with the safety spiel. Its so pathetic its laughable. I personally know of a copper who drives like an absolute idiot in his own car but as soon as he puts his uniform on and gets in the plod car he is the safest, hardest, upstanding copper in the world.
I dont get angry with coppers anymore , i just laugh at em.
i got pulled over last year for dricing too slow. I was doing 26mph as it was a bit foggy and the roads were like glass. Copper gets out and says hes going to do me for driving too slowlt. I nearyl choked with laughter. In the end he got his hair off and told me to move on.
I just laughed and pulled away.
I think part of the training in police camp must be how to pretend your a saint!
Coppers , i wouldnt piss on one if he was on fire!!
