Qualified with an Electronics degree but tend to do most of my electron-herding with a keyboard rather than a soldering iron these days. ::)

Not a bad thing because I probably wouldn't enjoy electronics as much as a hobby otherwise.

After a dabble in the TV broadcast industry I settled in mobile comms where I develop software that runs on systems used for regulatory testing of mobile phones.

Everything from embedded real-time software to windoze applications. (bit too much of the latter and too little of the former at the moment. ::))

Kevin

unfortunately windows programming dont make good money nowadays but embedded real time software can make good sums (still) if you have some relations in market.. :y

Yes, I suspect any value I have is in knowing the mobile networks inside out than being able to throw together an application. Especially as my weapon of choice is MFC. ;D

A life and a half in Telecoms then had the opportunity to do missionary work in Spain. The brief? Simply to promote real ale drinking. Five years on and after little noticeable results (i.e. still only lager) have become a farmer, predominantly olives. Like all farming jobs it is long hours and little return. In what little spare time left am renovating a house though that seems to be a losing battle. Any remaining time is used keeping the Omega all purpose vehicle running.

I have two main jobs, both for a very large company making "stuff" for the armed forces.....

job one - providing specialist legal advice both in-house and to MoD on design and use of vehicles

job two - I'm the company oracle on engines, gearboxes and running gear, working across most of the equipment we have

Have previous histories in the specialist motor industry and race-car engineering.
