Roof rack, top box, bike racks fitted (and filled !!  :)  )

Boot filled, backseat half full... left room for the cold box which is cooling down on mains overnight before going to 12V on the back seat .. must have cold beer on arrival ....  :)

Yup .. that time of year again ... off with the 'van to France ... see you all in a couple of weeks .. :)

Changed the oil and filter. Went surprisingly well, didn't spill any down me arm. But noticed play in pas side wheel baring. Which I had changed about 8 months ago. >:(

So, wheel off, cap off, wheel on, big bar on Halfords ratchet. No chance. Bigger bar on Halfords ratchet, still no chance. Removed the nut, greased it, tried again, no chance. Removed double section jack handle placed inside the bar on Ratchet, almost 1.5 meters of leverage... snapped the extent ion needed for the ratchet to clear the wheel. Perhaps not surprisingly.

Still play in the baring. 'dangle berries'.

New baring time I think.

Crapis were a psuedo sports car for posers.A Cortina in drag, with that long bonnet/ front end giving built in terminal understeer. Give me a well sorted Avenger over a crapi any day - and I have owned both and driven many examples of both. :y

Yeah, I think I'd go along with all of that. :y

Mate of mine used to have a nice Avenger Tiger with a pair of dell'ortos. :-*

Really? Tigers should have Webers!

I have a feeling it had a pair of Strombergs on when he got it, and he fitted them, so possible it wasn't entirely authentic. ;)

Some hade Strombergs - pair of 1.5 - fitted to GT Tiger had twin 40DCOE

Avenger and Sunbeam lumps were the same Ti was a Tiger 1600

And with uprated front struts/ springs on the front and spax adjustables/ stiffer springs at the rear they could be made to handle quite nicely (within the limitations of the basic design) and were, in their day, a reasonably competitive rally car. :y
Martin Imber is going to love this..... ::) ;D

Bummer!! may be a bit of useless info here though, on the older gm stragiht sixes, this was often caused by the fuel pump relay getting tired, dont know if they are expensive there or not Cem but it may be worth a try?
