And the hard braking from 120mph might of added to the heat of the disk ? :-?

Exhaust swap out scheduled on Saturday at TheBoy's.
So the full decatted PowerFlow fruity exhaust coming off and an standard going on. Should please the wife anyway.
Your brakes work fine now, TheDaddy. Unlike mine. McFatty was fully clenched earlier when we went to Maplins earlier.  If I'm honest, I clenched up a couple of times when trying to stop ::)

This evening, I have been having another look at Gayboy's uphill gardening gayPod thingie.

Bored with that, I started building his mixer circuit.

I've found out how much of a rust bucket my mig is and completely stripped  the rear end/subframe to sort. Also found out the rear subframe/diff bushes are shot(they fell apart when I undone them).
Any work needed on trailing arm bushes Lee?

Not sure yet. I'm concentrating on sorting the rust first and then I'll strip and sort the subframe.

What are you thinking/ wanting to know?.

Trying to get a general idea of life expectancy/condition and weather they are worth changing. My quite possibly flawed logic tells me that all the other bushes on the car need replacing by now, even on the newest omegas. With the excetion of the small dif bushes, which don't seem to fail,  which Mark confirms. We don't have much experience with trailing arm bushes.

Any pics or thoughts if you dismantle them would be good I guess.  :y

Bought it a new slam panel assembly.  ::) :-[ :-X

Car parts connexion came good again. :y Only a 90% discount though. :D

Local dealer will paint it and fit it for £250. Small price to pay, me thinks, to get the only bit of welding that it needs done right. All else is nuts and bolts - grown up Lego. ::)

Just waiting for the official verdict from the Deskengineer before I decide whether to claim or not. Guesstimate was £5k :o >:( WTFITA?

Oh that's a shame Al. Should be fixable surely

Oh yes. £1100 should cover it, if I get Local dealer to paint the wings and bonnet while they're at it. :)

Liberated the radiator, condensor and all 3 fans. Stripped bumper and wings off. Removed 2/3rds of the old slam panel in anticipation of new one which should arrive on Friday.  :)

Scrape on bumper flattened and now painted, just a final wipe with some very fine wet and dry tomorrow and the bumper will be as good as new.  8-)

Thank goodness the car is white... Even my dogs would struggle to mismatch it. :D

Took the front bumper off to get the H/L washers up and running. All going smoothly, just over half way through - then it started tipping it down.
If it doesnt stop I will retire to the shed to finish working on the drivers door which is soon to be fitted.

Yesterday, chrisgixer and I, and TheDaddy briefly, but he had to get back, did the brake fluid on TBE, and we popped some new pads on the front to replace the awful Ferrodo ones that were on there.  Bit more of a pain that it should have been, got air in the ABS unit  :-[. What a pillock I am ;D

Not had chance to drive it, so not idea if its cured it. Need to remember to bed the pads in before I test it ;D
