Well....when you have a problem such as this then 'universal lubricant' is often very good.

Its important to apply it and then work it well to get it well penetrated into the internals

Come down to Kent Mark and show me, then you can cure the lock! 8-) 8-)

Hmmmm....KY and WD40.....having you tried mixing the two....is the KY still in date?

Disconnect prop, and drag it out a bit?

Dont the park fingers engage on the dif?

no it's only on the gearbox

Yes it is Mark, but I have never mixed the two!  

Must try that as it has to be wonderfull for freeing up seized parts whilst providing friction free movement so good for all moving parts!

..........my boot lid was open and has been for two days!  No wonder the battery is flat! .......  

Oh well - look on the bright side! At least you'll be able to crawl througn to the front of the car & pop the bonnet.        

As I've said before, despite the theory .... there was no way my car was going to allow me to unlock it when my batter was that flat.

The trouble is Andy and Danny the car is in the garage, hard up against the rear wall in "Park", with the boot lid unable to rise high enough for anyone but a child to crawl through!!    The word I have used frequently today is.......bugger!!!!

Well actually dbug I have spoken to my adopted grand daughter and asked her to bring her lovely four year old son over as "he may be useful"

on a more sensible note, use a set of jump leads, connect black to chassis, red to + on starter solenoid (not motor) and hook the other ends up to a battery, will give the car power to unlock.

providing you have another jack of some sort to gain access to the starter from underneath.
