Standard (Vauxhall) chip back in. Took for drive, MID claimed I used a gallon, managed 25 miles (admittedly it was ragged most of it). Not used enough fuel to be able to work out manually, so inconclusive currently.
The only conclusion I can draw is:
Those people who drive a non chipped TD, how do you tolerate it? It must be the slowest car I have ever owned!
lololololol know what you mean!! however by your own admission you ragged it most of the way, now mine starts drinking it over 3500 rpm
but its a manual so i can keep under it through the gears, may i suggest you put a brick under the throttle pedal

for a short while just to see if not using the revs helps??? in other words let the torque of the diesel do the job rather than driving it like a petrol??? still think its the parasitic losses of the auto doing your consumption tho!!
however on a long motorway run where the auto lockup tc comes into play, it should be better on fuel than a manual in theory!!!
when i came down from santander to here in december i made 658 miles before i chickened out and filled it up again!!! that was at a resonably steady 75 to 85mph all the way only came out of top ear at junctions and through Madrid !!
