.......Don't forget the Lakes and Newent sites are actually proper camping sites, and are really told where abouts you have to go......

"Told where to go".....In the case of the lakes campsite; people certainly were! ;D

Nick I think you will find that if you keep yourself to yourself and don't mingle with other people they aren't going to come running in to see you.
You say you were busy all day doing tattoos, maybe if you had left your tattooing equipment at home and joined in with the rest you would have felt a little less isolated.
With it being a car club meet and not a tattoo convention I expect many members may not be that interested in tattoos but show an interest in watching or helping other members to do work on their cars.

the tattoo only took a few hours and as it felt as if i may as well of not of been there on the friday i decided to say sod it and do the tattoo's

Your right about the quiz Daz but there was no mention when it was going to start just sometime in the evening. I only knew the quiz was happening when I went to the toilet and by then it was already in full swing, but none came over to say it was going to start. As for not mingleing with the others, everyone that went to the toilet block had to go past my van to get there and no one said hello then whilst I was outside with Nick. I had met some of the members at Newent like Captain Zok, yourself, TB, Elite Pete and a couple of others but new faces never seen before had said nothing.

On the friday night myself, Nick and Ann were welcomed in the big tent where some others were which was nice and the rest were elsewhere, so we did mix.

For my part, I can but apologise.

I only arrived on the Saturday morning and left Sunday morning (another commitment for the Sunday afternoon).

I hoped to have some more time to walk round but, Mick Dundees brakes were an un-expected job and I had promised my little lad a rip to the railway museum on Satrurday.

i don't usually comment on these threads, but i think i should.

I went to the first meet at the Lakes, i went with my old Senator i prepared for a Euro road trip, had a fantastic time, it was the first time i meet Daz, Pete, Brucie and loads of others.

It was much more of a 'central' feel there, we all camped were told too, and had big sit downs in the evenings all together, and just chatted about various things (as you do with beer involved)

I agree with Daz (Loo-Knee) in the split that seamed to occur.

I was very gratefull for the help in putting my tent up, with the extra lights too  :y

Once the tent was up, a large group of familiar looking faces turned up, and the usual the sit around, beer drinking and talking about anything sparked up.

For me, there was a separate group on the other side of the site, playing very loud music until the very early hours. For me, the music was too loud, a lot of people had familys and very loud music and shouting until 2am was not called for.

This meet seamed to have a very different feel, which is a shame.

I hope with the next one, the stereo systems can be left where they belong, and have more of a complete gathering.

yes i understand about mike's brakes they needed doing straight away
as i did offer to run him to the vauxhall dealers if needed

we went into the local town on the friday morning with our familys to get food for the bbq
which took us 3 trips to and from the car to the shops

plus found the most expensive place to have breakfast only to find a cafe just round the corner that was more than half the price

then we got back and had a look at mike's car
