One hopes one will travel in the manner to which one is accustomed .....  I have this mental picture of the take away curry being collected in the Bentley ....  :D :D :D :D :D :D

(I know ... from a practical / expense point of view something else is better .. but I'd just like to see the take away owners face ....  :)  )

One of the lads on the 'shop floor' at Halls Sweet factory used to have a Rolls Royce as his every day car (F/G/H reg-ish) He was 50 and still lived with his Mum  ::) ::) ;) :y

Oh, forgot to mention I'm more than happy to pick up curry, drive around etc. I don't drink, except diet coke  ;D so I'm always driving my friends around etc, and usually drive for the Brackely curry evenings if TB has helped me out. So, yep no problem driving!

The estate is now sold Paul, so have no fear  :D
It'll be either a 2005 1.6 Focus, or the Bentley...my Omega has been sat for 3 weeks since I last used it and the RFL has expired.
So Nige and Paul you may get your wish, and I agree it would be funny, although I don't want to appear to be a complete moron turning up in a Bentley  ;D
Not sure if I'm pleased about that or not :-/ :-/ But pleased for you :y :y

If you bring the Bentley we'll all have to chip in for the fuel....... By the time we've all had a Test Drive :-X ::) :D

Just don't let Chris take it for one....... It'll come back with a lot less fuel than it left with :-X :-X :-X :D :D :D

Thanks, although I did know the black/black LT wasn't your ideal combination.
Fuel  :D well, £60 got me 102 miles, mix of motorway driving and country lanes driving carefully.
It's best not to look at the fuel guage really  :P
I heard about Chris' extened demonstration drive  :D

One of the lads on the 'shop floor' at Halls Sweet factory used to have a Rolls Royce as his every day car (F/G/H reg-ish) He was 50 and still lived with his Mum  ::) ::) ;) :y

Way back in the early 70's when I was a lowly Sgt on the sqn, one of the guys (a FS) found and bought a 1920's RR that had been a chicken coop, and spent a lot of time and money doing it up. His "normal" transport being a very battered mini-van. One day that blew up, and he had no money to repair it having just spent all his cash having the RR rear seat recovered in Connelly hide. So he started to use the RR to get to work and back. On the 4th day he was called in by the sqn boss ( a Wg Cdr) to explain. He was then given £150 from the "sqn fund" to get the mini fixed .... seems the Wg Cdr was getting serious ear bending from the Station Commander ( a Grp Capt) over this vintage RR being driven by a FS  ... :)

Politics of envy ???  :)

I know somebody who commissionned into one of the posh regiments.  Day one he drove into work and noticed all the porsches and audis, he promptly left and went to a ferrari dealership, paid cash for a 2nd hand 360 and returned to work.

He just had to have the best car in the mess car park  :o

I'll bring some disposable cups - I have around 70 left over from a previous event. And paper plates etc.

So are we bringing our own (daytime) food? I'm easy either way, but obviously need to know, as will have to go to shops. I know Lazydocker has been volunteered to be chef.

Way I see it:
Cooking facilities - Kevin Wood (gas griddle)/TheBoy (electric griddle - aaronjb bringing extn lead)
Hot water facilities - Kevin Wood (Urn)
Disposable cups/plates - TheBoy
Food (bacon/bangers/egg/rolls) - somebody to get, or we bring own??
Butter/sauces - daft us all bringing some??
Teabags Jack
Coffee Jack
Sugar Jack
Soft drinks - I picked up a load of coke from costco earlier, but probably not enough to go around (think it was a 30 pack).
Ought else?

I think there are plenty of jobs to be done already, and although I'm only really coming along to take the pi$$, is there anyone coming who fancies helping me exchange my AR25 for my spare AR35? ::) ::) ::)
