Two questions, actually several others, but two for now... :D

1. Did they paint it with the boot shut?

2. Is that corrosion along between the rear shelf brace and rear seat panel :-\

Went to town in the Austin, spent half the time there telling folks what it was!!! Driving nice now, picks up from 4K but has plenty to keep up with others at 2K in top. Just filled it with all the camping gear, wish I had a small teardrop trailer now .

Being ali, I think they get the equivalent of booth sprayed rather than dunked like steel. So the hidden parts inside tend to be the primer colour. Maybe DTM knows more, but both mine are mostly that green/grey colour inside.

2) No, trick of the light couple with 1) above.

Hot dip primed (its this process that sets the glue) then booth sprayed

Fair does. Perhaps it's a generational approach... For all their obvious faults, MB actually paint the whole shell and lacquer the bits that might be visible.

Repainted the n/s wheelarch on the Omega, after treating a little surface rust. Have made a start on the other side too.
Got a bit little bit of welding to do at the bottom of both arches just ahead of the rear wheels, but took both sill covers off and was pleased / surprised to find that the bilthamber hydrate 80 / Supertrol I had treated the surface rust with, at least 5 years ago has done its job and all is well under there.
Will clean the sills up a bit and give them the same treatment again, then refit the covers.
