used to be a civil engineer many moons ago and recently escaped the rat race to open a comicbook shop - which i love  :y

everything else in-between is classified i.e. too dull to talk about  8-)

I've a load of "Tiger & Jag" comics from the 1960s in my soon-to-be-converted loft.

They feature Roy of the (Melchester) Rovers. A hero when I was young.

Are they worth anything?  ::)

nice, any early Roy of the Rovers is worth something - don't throw them out Nickbat someone somewhere will buy them if they're in good condition - not necessarily mint but complete and readable, you could punt them on ebay, the money's in the first couple of years tho ie mid to late fifties, Tiger annuals are worth money too if you have any but we're not talking crazy prices, still a couple of quid for something that cost a couple of pennies ain't too bad  :y

Unknown to us my Mum kept evey comic that we had as kids plus all the Anuals.

Dandy, Beano, Whizzer and Chips then a couple my sister had, some got wrecked or scribbled on.

When she passed away we found them all boxed in years in the shed, sadly the roof had leaked and they were all black and manky.  But they went black and manky from the rain.

Some must have gone back to the middle 60's and on into the 80's

Ah well. :'(

Self employed industrial roofing and cladding contractor, have been for over 25 years. Love the job but can get depressing at times, especially when i am working in this freezing weather we have had lately, I travel nationwide if anyone has any roofs that need attention (hint hint) :)

Work at the docks, driving unit and trailer shifting containers and also cranes... Hope to get my Quay Crane License this year as that's where the money is... Get a few years experience and I could go to New York (for example) where the QC Drivers earn $200k/year :y :y

Done lots of driving jobs and also worked as a recovery driver/mechanic/MOT Tester for a couple of years :y :y

Qualified with an Electronics degree but tend to do most of my electron-herding with a keyboard rather than a soldering iron these days. ::)

Not a bad thing because I probably wouldn't enjoy electronics as much as a hobby otherwise.

After a dabble in the TV broadcast industry I settled in mobile comms where I develop software that runs on systems used for regulatory testing of mobile phones.

Everything from embedded real-time software to windoze applications. (bit too much of the latter and too little of the former at the moment. ::))
