Ljay complaining of a rattle....

2 found...

1, sorted heatshield on driver side cat pipe with jubilee clip.

2, both sets of front pads had lost anti rattle springs!

so replaced those, and bled all the brakes.

Serviced one of the work Vectras. Managed not to spill much oil, but made up for it with a nice cold petrol shower whilst doing the fuel filter. ;D

Spent a hour or so chasing airbag wiring around a 3 series coupe trying to work out why the light was on. Ended up re-routing the wire in the column from the airbag.  Someone been in there before, me thinks  ::), as it had almost no slack in it. Now runs where it should and steering wheel rake can now be adjusted as it's meant to. Light still on though, but contact hub behind wheel is sqeaking, so thinking that's on it's way out. A trip to the breakers beckons...

Finally got back under the beast to further investigate that clonk. New bushes have settled in nicely, exhaust mounts all ok, and no play anywhere else at the back.  :y Clonk still there though and I forgot to check the gearbox mount whilst I was under there. :-[

Finished the brake fluid change by fully bleeding the rear brakes and clutch.

Changed the fuel filter

Checked all the lights

Torqued all the wheel bolts up

Checked the tyre pressures

Checked all the brake pipes and greased them all up.

All ready for the MOT now

Yep... Getting the V5 changed over to "Alternative Fuel Car" gives you a £10 discount on VED ::)

Have you sorted an inspection yet?

Yes, it's on the register, told insurers where to stick their 26£ premium for a " modification " the cheeky basts!

Tax isn't due. Should I have cashed it in and re taxed? For a tenner?  :-/

You need to visit local DVLA office to sort the log book change (Make sure you take insurance and MOT docs with you) and to exchange your current Tax disc... Refund for the difference will come in the post via cheque ::)

By having the V5 changed it should make any future insurance/MOT visits fairly painless as the LPG "Modification" is registered ;) ;)

Did you go to the same bloke I did?

Yeah, well he quoted £110. So I thought for the agro, its just round the corner and available now, I hate that journey and fuel and time costs etc, just do it, job done. Plus they know me now and are sensible with criticisms. They passed it. But then added vat to the quote.... 'dangle berries'! I said. Cheeky bugger!
